ImpulsTrip (“ImpulsTrip,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the ImpulsTrip mobile application and related services (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly and information collected automatically when you use the App.
1.1 Information You Provide
- Email address
- Phone number
- Username
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Profile photos and videos
- Messages and chat content
- Content you create, such as trips, descriptions, and posts
1.2 Identity Verification Information
To maintain a safe and trusted community, ImpulsTrip requires identity verification.
During verification, we may collect a live selfie image from your device camera. This information is used only to confirm that the user is a real person through face comparison.
1.3 Location Information
With your permission, we may collect your precise location while you are actively using the App. Location data is used to display nearby trips, places, and experiences relevant to your current area.
1.4 Automatically Collected Information
- Device information (such as device type and operating system)
- App usage data and interactions
- Diagnostic and performance data
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App
- Create and manage user accounts
- Enable trip discovery and social features
- Verify user identity and maintain platform safety
- Display nearby trips and experiences
- Communicate with users about account-related matters
- Improve app performance and reliability
We do not use personal data for advertising profiling or sell personal information.
3. Biometric and Face Verification Data
To ensure user safety, ImpulsTrip uses face verification during onboarding or when required.
- A live selfie image is collected for identity verification.
- Face comparison is performed using Amazon Web Services (AWS) Rekognition.
- The selfie image is stored temporarily and automatically deleted within 3 days after verification.
- A verification status (such as “verified” or “failed”) is retained for as long as the account remains active.
- If a user deletes their account, all associated face verification data is permanently deleted.
Face data is used only for identity verification and is not used for advertising, analytics, artificial intelligence training, or any other purpose.
4. Camera and Photo Access
ImpulsTrip may request access to your device camera and photo library to:
- Capture a live selfie for identity verification
- Upload profile photos
Camera access is only used while the App is active and is never accessed in the background. ImpulsTrip does not access or record audio.
5. Location Data
Location data is collected only with your permission and only while the App is in use.
Your location helps display trips and experiences near your current location. ImpulsTrip does not store location history, and your exact location is not shared with other users.
6. Data Sharing
ImpulsTrip does not sell personal data.
We may share limited information with trusted service providers only as necessary to operate the App, including:
- AWS Rekognition for identity verification
- Cloud infrastructure providers for secure data storage
These service providers are contractually required to process data securely and only for the specified purpose.
7. Data Storage and Security
User data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure hosted in North America. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect user information.
Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized systems required to operate the App.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services.
- Face verification images are deleted within 3 days after verification.
- Verification status is retained until the account is deleted.
- Other account data is retained until the user deletes their account or as required by law.
9. Account Deletion
Users may delete their account at any time through the App. When an account is deleted, all associated personal data is permanently removed, except where retention is required by law.
10. Payments and Subscriptions
All payments and subscriptions are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. ImpulsTrip does not collect or store payment card information.
11. Children’s Privacy
ImpulsTrip is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective when posted, and the “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
